Delphi is an IDE orientated RAD-Tool from Borland based on an extended version of Pascal.
It allows you to quickly build database- or web-enabled windows applications.
Delphi 2 to 7 produce binaries for x86 win32 platforms. Delphi 1 produced (only) win16, while Delphi 8 produces (only) .NET executables.
Delphi 6 was released 2001
There is a Delphi port to x86 Linux named Kylix
EXEs usually require no additional runtime libraries, but have a size of at least 300 kb for simple GUI apps.
Delphi is available in differently featured packs from 150 up to 3.500 EUR.
